Around the House: A bathroom faucet
By Dawn Sailors In Guest Bath, ProjectsWell we’re still inching forward in our guest bath overhaul. And my brother-in-law, Chad (aka Mr. Dania) came over to help us out a few days ago with a new faucet for the vanity.
As usual, you have to see the original faucet to really appreciate the update. So here she is in all her glory.
Clearly seen better days. The old faucet was not only outdated, but also covered in lime scale and calcium build up- making it look filthy and gross. After all the work put into that countertop, I just couldn’t bear to have it topped off with such an ugly faucet. Enter Chad (and his lovely assistant).
I wish I could give you a step-by-step of the whole faucet install. But truth be told, I missed most of it because I was trying to keep this from becoming too annoying while the men were working:
Luckily we have two more faucets to replace in this house (master bathroom), so hopefully we’ll get some better process shots at some point. Vera was very intrigued by the whole thing and kept running in to check on progress.
Somewhere along the way we learned that our little bathroom can hold at least 3.5 people. Good info to have for future reference I suppose.
Finally Chad said it was ready to roll and we turned the water back on. So far it works great with no leaks, so great work, brother! :)
But working is only half the fun. Let’s see how she looks!
Ahhhh, so much better. It’s the details.
Ok well, hope you had a great Monday. See you later this week!
