Around the House: A tinge of the gingeBy Dawn Sailors In Around the House, Kitchen, Living Room
I hope you all had a fantastic V-day. We stayed in and I was treated to the hub cooking dinner and some valentine’s chocolate for dessert. It was awesome! (plus I got to play with my new lens– yay!) In the spirit of the holiday, i thought it would be appropriate to show off a few red-themes additions we’ve been making lately. Btw, if you don’t get the joke in the post title, you MUST watch this video. I cry laughing every time.
Back on topic… The addition of a new color to our main living space has been brewing for a while.
It all started with this photo:
It’s one of our wedding photos and it is very prominently displayed in the livingroom area. Which happens to be connected to the kitchen area. I love the colors in it, but we had no other reds in either room (mostly just blues and greens), so I’ve been working to change that by adding little pops of red as an accent here and there.
What do you think? The Canada Dry crate came from an antique store (excuse the leopard fabric, it’s another future project I’ve gotten myself into…), the clock, towels and tins are from target, and the vintage Campbell’s mugs, nut cracker and Pyrex dishes were some of the various scores from my recent trip home. Oh and Brett put that adorable little kitchen timer magnet (from Anthropologie) in my Christmas stocking this year. :)
I’d still like to add a few more touches in the living room, maybe in the form of a new throw pillow and some new curtains, but I’m liking the change and think it’s looking brighter already! And guess what color I’ve decided to go with on this little guy:
Yep. He’ll be blushing in no time.
