Hey there friends! Wow, I bet you thought I got hit by a bus or something huh? Well thankfully that is not the explanation for my prolonged blog absence. I have hinted in the last couple of posts about something I’ve been working on that I’m super excited about, and it’s finally at a point where I can spill the beans.
I have decided to retire DesigningDawn.com, but before you get sad… it’s only because I’ve started a brand new blog and business venture with my close friend and brain twin, Ashley.
So what does that mean? Well, basically I’ll still be blogging regularly, and will leave the DesigningDawn.com archives up for the foreseeable future. I’ll also be transitioning some of my favorite and most popular posts over to the new site so they’ll live on! AND, I’ll still be writing about interiors, DIY projects, fashion, design, and so on… but now I have a partner in crime, and I know you’re going to love her! Together we’ll be able to produce even more content, PLUS we’ll be able to offer graphic design services, P home mockups, interior mood boards, and we even have an online shop with a whole slew of fun products we make just because we love to make.
Ashley and I met back in college, which it pains me to say was about 12 years ago. We were both designers, both had a love of art and shared a mutual obsession with our favorite musician, Brandi Carlile. Since that time, we’ve come to realize we’re nearly the same person (brain twins) when it comes to how we work and how we think. We’re both introverts with anxiety issues, who happen to love making things beautiful and making beautiful things.
I’ve been (not very subtly) hinting at Ashley about writing some blog posts for me since she bought her first house last year. But after further discussion, we decided it was an amazing opportunity to team up and start something brand new together. And that was the day that AD Aesthetic was born. The name is a play off of our initials and the fact that we have roots in advertising and design. And of course we’re both aesthetes who geek out over good aesthetics in all the things.
SO… all that back story boils down to this: COME CHECK OUT MY BRAND NEW BLOG/WEBSITE AT ADAESTHETIC.COM and tell me what you think! Creating this new site and venture has been a lot of work, but definitely a labor of love. It’s still a bit of a work in progress, so if you see anything that looks like a mistake I beg you to (kindly) point it out so I can get it fixed pronto.
We’ll be posting regularly on Instagram @adaesthetic (you can still find my personal account @designingdawn), and on Facebook, where the Designing Dawn page will transition over to AD Aesthetic. So if you’re an Instagrammer, go follow, and if we’re already Facebook friendly, consider this your heads up on the name change.. no action required on your part. ;) For a few weeks (months?) I’ll also pop in here at Designing Dawn with an update whenever a new post goes live over at AD Aesthetic, just to make sure no one misses the transition, but I sincerely hope you’ll hop over to the new site, say hi, and follow along on with me and Ashley on this crazy new venture.
Thank you so so much for all the support over the years, and for the continued friendship and support. It really means the world to me!
