Design Geek: Inside Jokes

I was doing a little research yesterday on a new (to me) time management/tracking company. Like many such companies, they display screenshots on their website to show off their ease of use, organization and other things that are important to such companies.

You may be wondering why I’m even talking about this, and I’ll admit, it’s not high on my list of interesting subjects, but some clever designer added a little bit of humor that made it jump right up there for me. If you’re a fan of The Office, you’ve probably noticed by now that the character names are used as samples in the graph above. Very sneaky way to get users like me to click through! It me not only smile, but also scroll through every other page on the site and all screenshots scanning for similar finds.

I love inside jokes AND designers with a sense of humor.
