Early Valentine’s Present

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather for the past few days. Nothing serious, just a bad cold, but it couldn’t have come at a worse time, since I’m scheduled to have a root canal on Thursday morning. Yikes. This mouth has never even seen a cavity filling before, so I don’t really know what to expect, but I’m anticipating that they’ll make sure I can’t feel a thing before they start any drilling, so I’m not too nervous.

All that makes for a rough week though, so I was very happy to get a phone call today telling me that the new camera lens I’ve been coveting was finally in stock at my local camera store! Yippee. Happy early Valentine’s day to me. :) I headed right over after work to pick that baby up and I am in love!

I’ve been waiting for this lens for weeks and it was on back-order literally everywhere. The store got one in (I don’t even know how it’s possible to get a shipment of one, but whatever) and since I’d been calling them repeatedly to check on it, they must have wanted to get me off their backs. Haha, jk. I only called a little.

Anyway, what type of camera I use is one of the questions I get asked the most, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to share. I have a Nikon D3000, which is now equipped with a shiny new 50mm 1.8 AF-S lens.

So there you have it. My equipment. I will never claim to be a professional photographer, but I do love to attempt to take a good pic (or at the very least feel like I have the ability to), and I’m excited to try out my V-day present! I’ll keep you posted. :)
