Fourth Recap
By Dawn Sailors In Just Dawn, Offspring (Baby things)Hello there! I hope you had a very happy 4th of July! We spent the holiday with Brett’s family in his home town. I forgot my camera (bad blogger!!) so you’ll have to excuse my iPhone pictures, but the day started off with a trip to Scooters on our way out of town. So you know it was going to be a good day. :)
When we got to town, Vera couldn’t wait to play in the amazing playhouse her Grandpa has been building.
It’s not quite finished yet, but doesn’t it look like a little kid’s dream? She loved it and so did her cousins.
After plenty of play time, we took Vera up to the park where there was a petting zoo (everything was a puppy) and bouncy castles!
She loved the castle and threw a fit when we finally pulled her away from it. Luckily there were snow cones to distract her.
Later on in the day, there was the annual parade (last year’s post here). It was so funny to see how fast Vera picked up the whole idea of candy-throwing and collecting. It wasn’t long before she was running after candy and fighting off the bigger kids to fill up her bag.

Dad even let her try a few pieces, dirty fingers and all.
After the parade, we had a feast!
And we did a lot more playing.
Then it was time to head home, where V played with her friends and we watched an amazing fireworks show from our neighbor’s back deck. We could see the whole town! It was so beautiful.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I also hope that my neighbors runs out of fireworks soon. Sheesh. It was a great day, but the week of late night explosions leading up to it, and all the ones since have been a bit much on the stress scale with a sleeping kid in the next room. Haha, ok, I’ll stop making myself sound like an old lady now. Happy weekend!
