H&M Grand Opening – Omaha

If you live in the Omaha area, you were probably aware of the H&M Grand Opening yesterday at Westroads Mall. This is one of those stores we Nebraskans have been waiting on for quite a while, so it was kind of a big deal. :)

Before the opening at noon, Sarah, blogger at fashflood.com and co-owner of Hello Holiday, hosted a little blogger breakfast for some local bloggy ladies, and I was able to get a sneak peek of the new store!

Here she is all shiny and new! We got to tour the store and do some pre-opening shopping too. So exciting! The Omaha location is huge and includes women’s, men’s, kids, and even maternity wear. Seriously? Just about 5 weeks too late for me to get on that train, but maybe some of the other mama’s out there can take advantage. Haha.

H&M Grand Opening

Can I just have one of each of these adorable little girls outfits please?? I tamed my shopping for the most part (maternity leave has been killing my wallet, as I spend too much time convincing myself that mall walking is exercise), but I did leave with this adorable wool hat that I plan to rock all fall, and there were several items I’ll probably head back for, because who are we kidding? I’m weak. Plus I need the exercise.

I will definitely be frequenting this store, so maybe I’ll see you there. Also, when you hit them up, be sure to bring in a bag of used clothing to donate to their garment recycling program. Every time you do, you’ll get 15% off your purchase, and in addition to donating clothing to those in need, H&M’s program actually reuses donated items to create new garments. So it’s the perfect place to bring that one sock that somehow lost it’s mate, or the old ratty t-shirts you were thinking about throwing out, or any other item that just isn’t in wearable condition. You can read more about their program and other sustainability efforts here. Isn’t it awesome when a company has good products and good values??

Happy shopping!

P.S. – I wasn’t paid or perked to write this review… just my take on a fun event and a sweet store!
