Hi Tarryn! I just used a test pot of Valspar paint from Lowes. They only come in one finish I believe, but I can’t remember off the top of my head what it is. I think it’s satin?? I made sure to do several thin coats using a sponge roller and it has held up really well for the past three years. I actually just painted another dresser the same way: http://designingdawn.com/dresser-dress-up/
    Hope that helps!

    Hi,
I was wondering how you made your posters? I have a saying that I really like but was wondering how to create a poster.
    Thanks

      Hi Bailey,

I’m actually a graphic designer by day, so making posters is pretty much what I do for a living. As for how, I use a program called Adobe Illustrator to create them and then work with local printers to produce them. If you need help, I do offer custom design work and would be happy to create a custom poster for you. Shoot me an email if you’re interested. designingdawn@gmail.com

Did you also paint the ceiling and if so what color?

We didn’t paint it actually. I would like to eventually, but right now it is just white.

Hey! I love this nursery! My mom is making my 3 yr old daughter and “coming soon” daughter matching quilts since they will be sharing a room for a while before we sell our house. Anyways, they are very bright vibrant quilts and I knew they needed a very clean background so the room doesn’t get too busy. Your wall colors are that perfect background. I know you said the grey is Porcelan Shale, but I was wondering what color you painted the lower half of the walls?

Thanks Amy! Sorry it took me a bit to respond. No one’s ever asked me that before and I had to go look up my paint sample. :) It’s called Delicate White (D40-1) by Olympic. I had them color match it to Valspar gloss paint though. Hope that helps!

Did you use a primer to prime the dresser? Or just sand and paint? Thanks!

I didn’t prime it, but I had already painted it once, so that might make a difference depending on your project.

I am beyond obsessed with this nursery! It is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. We are planning on creating our nursery on a budget since we will soon be going from two incomes to one and I think this is the perfect fit!! I am pretty crafty so I think I can do the majority of this myself. Thank you soooo much for posting where you got everything! What a huge help!
