Office Crashers: Where I work, the reveal

You may have noticed that posts around here have been a little sparse over the past few (several?) months. I’ve mentioned in the past that I’ve been extra busy lately, and now I’m finally getting around to showing you one of the projects I was up to!

The small marketing and design company I work for moved to a new office in March. I somewhat headed up the move, laying out the new office floor plan, supervising construction, and designing the interior of the new space. Needless to say, on top of my regular work, it kept me quite busy. But as of this summer, we’re finally (finally!!!) done. Yay!

So without further ado, here are some photos of the new office now that it’s finally complete. :)

The space features our company colors throughout (can you guess what they are?) and has some fun industrial touches, like stained concrete floors, exposed ceilings, and an open floor plan. We also brought in some warmth with beautiful carpet (also green, blue, and gray) in the offices and conference rooms, and rich wood tones throughout with custom-built desks, cabinets, and woodwork.

My friend and coworker, Ashley, and I had so much fun working together on decorating, including creating our own string art logo installation on the front wall, and making a DIY magnetic chalk board sign in station. Not to mention about 1800 trips to thrift stores, Home Goods, and Target. :)

We also got our tough girl britches on and built our own shelves in both the conference room and kitchen using the same DIY method I used for my office shelves at home. Although let me tell you that installing them into metal studs vs. wooden ones was a whole other beast. And not in a good way. We prevailed however. Huzzah!

It was so much fun to see this place go from an empty concrete shell to a fun, bright, and inspiring space. And to get to have such a large role in that transformation! It’s rewarding to get to work in a space I created, and to love the place where I spend most of your time each week.

Hope you’re having a great week!
