Outfit of the Day: Do Stripes Make Me Look Smaller?

As I mentioned in my last pregnancy update, I’ve been enjoying finding outfits to fit my new shape as I continue to get more round. I’m not a fan of traditional maternity clothes, and my main goals have been to not change my fashion sensibilities and to stick to as much non-maternity clothes as possible- opting for larger sizes that I can wear again, maybe belted, post-preg.

Here is an example of what I’ve been doing a lot of. The leggings look. I feel very lucky that leggings and tunics are in style right now. It makes for comfy days and easy outfits, no matter how large my baby bump gets. I also have been rocking layers, with sweaters over regular shirts or tanks for a more modest look and to create some diminution and make me feel more put together. My biggest fear is turning into that lady who gives up on herself just because it is harder to find clothes that fit. I think the one-button-done sweater look is cute on pregos, highlighting the roundness where you want to and hiding it where you might need to.
