I’m really into maxi dresses lately. Like, that’s almost all I wear these days when the occasion calls for a dress. It’s maxi mayhem in my closet, and I can’t explain it other than to say I really just like how I feel in them. I don’t have to worry about wind, or bending over to pick up a baby, or a four year old pulling up my skirt. It takes a lot of pressure off getting dressed up.
Speaking of said four year old. She’s loving the camera right now and insisted that she needed to take some photos with it. Here is one of her masterpieces:
It’s fun to watch her learn new things.
But back to the outfit of the day… this dress is from H&M and I love the graphic look and simple design. It’s lightweight and airy, but not a tank top like a lot of my other maxi dresses. I like the simple black ribbon belt it came with, but I could also see it looking sweet with a leather belt. Maybe next time.
This time, I paired it with a comfortable pair of black espadrilles I found at Gap Outlet last year for an easy monotone outfit.
If you’re a regular follower of my blog, you probably already noticed the dramatically different house color behind me in these shots. ;)
The painting is officially done and I’m just waiting on the hub to finish cleaning up an unsightly tree stump in the front yard so I can take real ‘after’ pictures and share it with you guys! It turned out exactly how I imagined, and I love it. Stay tuned!
