Other People’s Projects: Jaime’s Bentwood Rocker

Since I was out of town last weekend and didn’t get a lot accomplished around here, I thought it would be a good time to share someone else’s project with you while I spend this one catching up. Jaime and I started corresponding several weeks ago after I posted a tutorial (part one and part two) on refinishing the bentwood rocker in Vera’s room. You know- the one the hub killed.

Jaime used my post as a jumping off point and with a few emails/questions back and forth, created her own updated bent-wood rocker. Spoiler alert: it looks awesome! (In the process, she also started a brand new blog, so go visit and support her at yummyartsandcrafts.blogspot.com) Here’s the so sweet email I got from Jaime and a before/after of her rocker:

Hey there! I am the one that was asking you for so much advice on the rocking chair haha… I just wanted to send you a picture of the (almost) finished product and say thanks again, I would not have been able to do it without your help and blog! (:

Isn’t that awesome? She also has a full tutorial right here. I love that my project could spur someone else to create their own and that Jaime emailed to tell me about it! Talk about inspiring. Things like that make blogging so worth all the time and effort. Thanks again for making my day Jaime.
