Outfit of the Day: Cool White

Monday, July 18, 2011 – To the Office, Client Meeting

We’ve been having a real heat wave here in Middle-America for the past week or so. Like 92° feels chilly type of heat wave. Luckily I work inside and we have good AC, but the first 15 minutes in my car on the drive home are pretty toasty, to say the least.

So what to wear when it’s hit enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk? I like white. It always feels cooler. I also like skirts. I’m going to capture as much of that minute breeze as possible without getting arrested or fired for indecent exposure.

I really like the shape and vintage style of this shirt. It always makes me think of Twiggy. The only problem is that I have unusually wide shoulders for a woman (linebacker shoulders my sister would say) and the seams don’t sit quite right so it tends to bunch up awkwardly. I generally avoid tailored shirts for this reason, but every once in a while I get a wild hair and go for it. Even if it looks a little off. Oh the plight of the wide-shouldered gal.

Do you have any certain styles that you shy away from? Do you ever say screw it and wear them anyway?
