A long time ago I was looking for some artwork for our master bedroom and decided to paint a couple of quick abstract paintings for fun. I wanted to bring color to that side of the room and also wanted something a little harsher to balance out the femininity of the flowery duvet cover.
Then they sat there for a year or so, but I was never really in love with them.
When I started adding pops of yellow into the room, I kept looking at the paintings and debating an alteration. Until finally I decided to just go for it.
While I was at it, I picked up a couple of frames at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and made some alterations to those too.
And all that effort made a big difference.
A few hours and two new frames later and I love them much more than before. I think the geometric stripes play nicely with the organic shapes and the colors pop off the dark walls so much more now. I’m also always amazed at how framing a painting can take it from amateur to professional like magic. Just the feel I was wanting and they add some fun and color to the room. Sometimes it takes a year or so to finally finish an art project I guess. Well worth the wait.
