Twin Tuesday: Marco and Olivia

Hey it’s Tuesday again! Today’s twins are the adorable Marco and Olivia, and they belong to the very funny Natasha and her husband Martino. Natasha writes a twin-mommy blog called Happy Chaos about, well, the chaos of being a twin-mommy of course, and I really enjoyed getting to meet her, even if just over email. (Did anyone else notice that Marco’s cute yellow sweater is the same one Vera is wearing in her six month photos?? Great minds think alike!) I’ll let her take it from here:

Do twins run in your family?

No, but now they do,all over the place ha! always wanted to use that line. :P
After being diagnosed with “unknown infertility” (whatever that means) and several unsuccessful IUI’s, we were successful with IVF.

When did you find out you were expecting twins and what was your reaction?

We found out pretty early that we were having twins. My acupuncturist told me I was having twins before I even got a positive test! It was confirmed with an ultrasound around 6 weeks.

How did you go about picking names?

Olivia Jade – two names I always loved. I knew that if I had a girl her middle name would be Jade. Olivia won out from my faves – Stella, Chloe and Eva

Marco Alfonso – I knew I didn’t want a junior, so we compromised and both loved Marco. Alfonso is after his paternal grandfather. I like to call him Marco Bello.

What is the hardest part about having twins?

I have to say I am pretty blessed to have two amazing little people that bring joy to our lives’ everyday. Hmmm, the hardest part is trying to get them to not throw food on my floor at.every.meal. it’s one of their favorite activities.

What is your favorite part about having twins?

Marco and Olivia are such good-natured babies, I love watching how they interact with each other. As silly as it is, it’s double the love, double the hugs and kisses. They make my husband and I laugh everyday! Watching them discover new things, their personalities. They crack us up!

Maybe it’s true when people say, “how do you deal with twins? I couldn’t do it”. I didn’t know any different and it was scary in the beginning but we got into a groove and are having so much fun.

What advice would you give to other parents of twins?

Trust your instincts! you know what it best for you and your babies.
As hard as it may be ask for help!
In the beginning, it was hard for me to even find time to eat or pee! even if it’s just 10 minutes to sit and breathe. take some time out of each day for yourself. You need it!
And lastly, enjoy it, laugh and cherish every.single.moment because it flies by!

Ok, those are two of the cutest hats ever, right? Thanks again to Natasha for participating in Twin Tuesday and for answering a few questions for us! Make sure you go see her at http://happychaos.org to keep up with these two kiddos!
