Weekly Randoms
By Dawn Sailors In Design Geek, RandomDania’s regularly scheduled Twin Tuesday post will be coming later today, but until then I thought I’d play catch-up with my Randoms, since it’s been far more than a week. So here goes!
The Good Life
Not the State slogan in this case, but the title of the cookbook I’ve been drooling over since seeing it a couple of weeks ago on Design Sponge. Want to own so bad. First I just have to promise myself I’ll actually cook some of the recipes in it and then I’ll have to convince the hub of the same thing. :/
HTML email crash course
I’ve been getting a crash course in coding HTML emails for the past two weeks at work, and let me tell you- headache! If you aren’t aware, email programs don’t have the same standards as web browsers so something that looks great in say Gmail might be totally jacked up when viewed in Hotmail. What a mess. To deal with it, you have to code email marketing in tables, which is an outdated format rarely used on websites these days. But until the day when there are some kind of email standards, it’s the only workaround. So learning lots but very slowly through trial and error. if you’re interested, here’s a great resource filled with helpful tips. I also like Email on Acid for testing.
Back to school
This past weeks was Brett’s first week back at school with students, so we’ve all been adjusting to our ‘school year routine’. I have to say, it’s harder than I thought. Both logistically and emotionally. From the logistics side, you have waking up earlier because baby actually has to be dressed and fed and packed up to go to daycare at the same time we leave. No more lazy mornings sleeping in bed with Daddy! Emotionally it has been tough because I hate that she is now at daycare for the majority of her waking hours every week. Even though I wasn’t able to be home with her, through the summer I at least knew she was spending time bonding with her dad and I loved that. Not that we don’t like her in-home daycare provider. She does a great job, but I guess anyone would choose to have you child with a parent if it were an option. Right now, for us, it’s just not. Well, back to school, whether I like it or not. It’s not all bad though. At least there’s no more getting dressed in the dark because the hub’s still asleep. Spouses of teachers can relate I’m sure. Lol
Instagram Pic
I can’t pick just one pic, plus its been a few weeks, so here are a couple of my favorites from recently.
Happy Tuesday!
