Lettering: The Dangers of Assuming
By Dawn Sailors In Art & Lettering, As Seen In, Shop Designing DawnHey friends! Today is an exciting day for me, because my latest hand lettered illustration just launched over at Cotton Bureau. It has been a goal of mine to have a piece accepted to this selective online shop for a while now, and I finally put myself out there and submitted! Yay effort! Yay overcoming anxieties! Yay seeing my work on fun stuff!
Anyway, I need a minimum of 12 orders to start production on these babies, and they’re only available for two weeks from today (through March 29), so if you like the design and want to purchase a t-shirt, CLICK HERE to help a girl out and get one of your very own. They come in a few different colors and styles for both men and women.
As for the art itself, I hand lettered this quote because it was one I heard ALL THE TIME growing up. My dad was a teacher at my high school, and was famous (infamous?) for preaching these words of wisdom to all his students. Trust me when I say that during his 30+ years of teaching, you most certainly did not graduate from DOHS without hearing this at least once.

The man with all the great life advice.
Here are a few images of this piece along the way:
Thanks for all the support, friends! If you’re thinking of purchasing, remember that March 29th is the last day to get an order in! Fingers crossed that these sell enough to make it to production, because I’d love to be able to give one to my Dad as a thank you for the inspiration and all the advice over the years. Plus I really want that blue one for myself. haha ;)
