Outfit of the Day: Let’s Rendezvous Sugarlips

Wait, that title sounds a little more saucy than the actual content of this post. Don’t get your hopes up. I’ll explain. A few weeks ago, Sugarlips Apparel contacted me about a partnership (see their ad over there to the right? Click it to visit them anytime!), and offered to send me a gift of my choice from their online store. They work with fashion bloggers to promote their products, and told me to pick out my favorite piece from their collection. Needless to say, I did a few cartwheels before sitting down to look through their website and attempting to narrow it down to a favorite.

I chose the Let’s Rendezvous Dress. It was delivered last weekend and it is even more beautiful in person than online. I am in love with this romantic little number.

Here’s what I love about Sugarlips: every piece on their site has unique little touches that are unexpected and fun. You really have to look through the photos of each one to get a true idea of the piece, but once you do, you’ll see what I mean. On this dress, I love the addition of lace sleeves that add the romance to an otherwise basic stripe dress. It pairs practical with pretty and I’m liking that combo.

As far as the practicality of the dress, the details are not overlooked. I’m not a fan of wearing slips, so I really appreciated that this whole dress has a lining that eliminates the need. There is also a tiny snap at the bust to hold things in place and avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.

The dress actually came with a thin leather belt also (I love it when accessories come with clothes!), but I chose to swap it out for my wider Anthropologie belt (from a few years back) this time. I though the chunkier leather combo dressed it down a bit for the office. I paired it with my newish wedge sandals from DSW and an old favorite necklace from The Limited.

What do you think?? If you’re a fan, go visit Sugarlips and let me know what you think of the rest of their line. Happy (almost) Friday!
